<< Back to March 2009 – Email Campaign

Updates on Mar 6, 2009

Thank you for your support for the March Email Campaign.  It is now closed.  I will be publishing the results in the coming few days.  And see you again for the April 2009 Email Campaign with strike day April 5th!!

Updates on Mar 5, 2009

Seoul has entered March 5th now – please email away your thoughts to CODA et al now!

‘Counter Ban for Park Shin Yang’ has sent EC3 to CODA et al to kick off March 2009 Email Campaign.

The communications yahoo email account has some issues; hence EC3 was sent with a new account from gmail.

I hear many supporters are restrained – they are not free to send emails or they may be sued (by law).  But we know they are with us!  Therefore, for those who enjoy complete freedom of speech, I invite you to join the email campaign – if not this time, then see you(r mail) on April 5th!

Updates on Mar 4, 2009

Wow – some supporters have started emailing CODA, its members and the 3 stations!

Updates will be made via the March Email Campaign main page gradually.  Fighting!!!

Updates on Mar 3, 2009

March’s Email Campaign is launching in 2 days… are you anxious?

I found more reportings of this campaign in other forums / site.  I’ve added some of them to the right side bar.

The Chinese translation of an excerpt of this book is now posted in the official fan site.  See updates on Feb 24 (below) for the urls of Korean and Japanese versions.

Updates on Feb 28, 2009

On the last day of February, this campaign received great help from 캣 Ssi who helped translated most of the material into Korean.  WOW!!  Please give 캣 Ssi big hands!!  Many supporters who can only read Korean will be able to understand our campaign and join us soon!  Isn’t this really happy news? 😀

Updates on Feb 27, 2009

Our second email campaign on March 5th is definitely a GO – there’s no reply from CODA et al as of today.

I have sent a confirmation email to CODA et al with the media copied that we will launch our second email campaign on the planned date – the coming Thursday – 6 days from today.  I have posted the “call-to” message to the fans boards.

One MBC email address, still shown on MBC website, is returning in error.  I will check again on March 5th.  Please, only copy and use the email addresses (to be published on March 2nd for those who can’t join us on the launch date) before you send your email on March 5th.  This way, you will get whatever latest updates I may make from now till then.

I am happy to share with you that today I received a Korean supporter’s email to help with the English-Korean translations.  Wow!  We have one more volunteer translator after Mr. Kim!  Thank you!!!

No reply from CODA yet.  2 more days to wait.

If you can read Korean or Japanese, there is a highlight of a book about 21 world-class directors (John Boorman, Martin Scorsese, Oliver Stone, David Cronenberg, David Lynch, Tim Burton, Woody Allen, John Woo, the Coen brothers etc) giving secret lessons on filming, commenting on Park Shin Yang’s acting skills, posted at the following urls:

Please help spread our work.  Tell them the story of Park Shin Yang, tell them why you join this campaign, and tell them we count on every one who knows about the email campaign to send an email. 🙂

I am starting to see postings of the campaign in more portals and user forums in Chinese, Chinese, Chinese, ChineseKorean, Korean, KoreanKorean, VietnameseEnglish (Indonesian forum), English etc.  Fighting!!

I may not make many updates in the coming days.  I am preparing something we need for the campaign.  For now, things are on track.

Translators still needed.  Thanks!

Updates on Feb 9, 2009

I’ve taken an advise from a pro business consultant to start a Facebook group (same name as this site – ‘Counter Ban for Park Shin Yang’) for supporters who are Facebook members, if you are not a Facebook member, consider creating an account with Facebook and join this group. For now, this group will only play the role as an update conduit: I will post updated urls to this group, so Facebook supporters can just review the urls for updates. I think (HOPE) this new group, on top of the other forums that I loiter, won’t kill me.🙂

I have fixed a url link under the media Centre for the March campaign.  It should have linked to the Supporter’s Second Email instead of the First one.  My bad.

I have revised the content of the Follow-up Email (EC2).

Media updates.  Yahoo!Korea also has reposted DongA’s reporting.  And I am surprised to see our campaigns covered in 2 media groups servicing Taiwan:  udn.com (合報) and The Liberty Times (自由時報).

Updates on Feb 8, 2009

Initial (DRAFT) version of the following is ready for review and comments

I need translators (English to Korean, English to Japanese, English to Chinese) please.  If you can help, please let me know.  You know my contact email.

Comments and thoughts on the campaign and schedule are, as usual, welcomed and appreciated!

10:25pm (EST) – very excited – ‘Counter Ban for Park Shin Yang’ appears in Korea Media: DongA and one of the biggest portals: Naver! Please see the links posted on the right side bar under Media News. I thank Reporter Han Sang-hee of The Korea Times for informing me of the reporting and Reporter (Justin) Heo Min Nyeong of DongA for taking the time to write about this site and its campaign.
